Full Landscape Design Services

The first step in designing your dream garden is to conduct a detailed site analysis and to formulate a brief.  The brief involves discussions about likely uses and function of the garden, likes and dislikes of the owner, restrictions due to soil type, orientation of the garden and weather conditions and, finally, a preparation of a wish list of plants and features to be included.

We photograph the site and discuss design details in depth with the client, or if the site is large, a full land survey is carried out.

We then prepare a sketch plan in CAD , and a mood board which illustrates how the garden will look. This means you get to see your garden before the ground is actually broken.

Once the design is approved by the client, we prepare specifications and working drawings from which the contractors can prepare a quotation for the landscaping works.

Finally, we prepare a planting plan and full planting list for client approval.

Construction Drawings and Contractor Negotiations

Once a client is happy with the design and would like to have a set of  detailed construction drawings and specifications including setting out plans, detailed technical drawings and specifications for particular elements of the garden, such as arbors, trellis, fencing, paving, water features etc. All materials will also be specified at this stage. Construction drawings are billed by the hour.

Clients will either DIY the installation or want to outsource some or all of the installation.  Garden Girls works with reputable contractors and the specification documents can be sent out for bidding on the owners behalf.  Please note: Owner contracts directly with contractors.

Construction Project Management

Many clients do not have the time to do all the follow ups with contractors on site installations and prefer not to have the headache. GardenGirls offers project management services to ensure your project stays on track and comes out as designed. This service includes weekly client updates throughout the installation process.

Therapeutic gardens may be designed to honor someone who has overcome a major life obstacle or as a memorial for a loved one.  Garden Girl specializes in highly individualized healing gardens. Working with trauma survivors (specialists in PTSD), breast cancer, and people with disabilities the garden becomes a place of solace, recovery, and hope.

Many clients find peace in having a memorial garden designed within their existing garden space. This is a private garden for reflection, solace, and comfort.

This is IDEAL for those who want some “DIY Landscaping Advice”. Garden Girl will come to your home, and spend an hour 1/2 with you. She will take into account your lifestyle, your wants and needs, your future plans, privacy issues… everything.
